Eventful Day???

Well...after some break, I'm kinda finally back for some updates. But my main focus is TODAY. Yes, you can say it's a pretty stupid day yet quite a lot out of the norm happened today.

Let's start from the very beginning :)

MORNING! Yes, I got out of bed today at freaking 6am today. Preparing for the BIG event today. (Please refer to previous 3(?) posts) Because I was pretty nervous and excited last night, I think I only slept for about 4 hours -.-" Anyway, after I prepared everything, I got out of the house and begin my journey to the train station. And to my surprise, I saw a friend of mine who shares the same destination with me. At least now I'm not that lonely going alone :)

Anyway, we reached the stadium and and reported to the person in charge and got ready for the battle. The first station - Pull-up. I was shocked when the guy said, 'You'll need 5 or more to pass if you're 21 and above and only overhand grip is allowed'.

Me: O.o"

I knew that I was ROYALLY SCREWED when he announced that. I can only do 3 with overhand grip and I thought I just needed 3 to pass. Soon, it was my turn and like what I have feared, a miracle didn't happen and I can only do 3 -.-"

For those that are clueless, no matter how well you do for the rest of the other stations, if you fail even just one station, you'll fail the whole thing.

Well, there was another interesting thing that the instructor said. 'If you failed one station then it's pointless to continue because even if you get gold for other stations, you'll still be deemed as a failure.' Or something like that. I was like, 'wow, that's kinda harsh don't you think?' -.-"

Anyway, I just continued for the sake of my friend and went on to the next station - standing broad jump. It's my forte but for my friend it's a killer. Well, to cut long story short, he couldn't make it to the passing mark and we left the stadium....as a failure...we hardly break a sweat to be it -.-"

Anyway, we went to meet up with another friend for breakfast and he called another friend as well. The thing is that all those friends that I met today till now are all friends I have not contacted for like months. Fancy meeting them all together :)

After the meal and a small chat, I went home and blah blah blah.....Until I meet up with my friend to go out and shop for 1, my monster hunter portable 2nd g game and 2, my friends' presents. However, I only manage to get a present for one of my friends and we spent about 4 to 5 hours shopping. It's really tiring.

Anyway, since I failed my NAPFA test, I have to resort to plan B. That is to use my medical condition and ask for a deferment for my National Service. There is 90% that this plan will work but there is this one thing that still bothers me.

Is my hepatitis C a good or bad thing? I like to think that it's a bad thing because I lost one of my life's enjoyment but it's not really all that bad because I can use it to my advantage so that I can tie up those loose ends before I go into NS.

Anyway, I'll just ponder about this alone so till the next time :D

OFFICIAL GRADUATION!!!

Yeah, I'm now 'officially' graduated from polytechnic, with cert and everything.

But seriously though, the ceremony was pretty boring than what I had in mind. Partially because most of my friends that I hang out with are not from my course. And I am not really the friendly with my classmates as well -.-" In the end, I only took pictures with ONE friend because, well, the rest are busy with stuffs that I have already prepared and done with -.-" You know, like, 'is my tie straight?', or 'how's the robe looking?', 'my hair...?' -.-" And partially because I have the weird tendency to get ignored by others, be it real life or in forums. I don't know is it because of my voice or the way I speak or maybe I was born under some stupid cosmic star that makes me 'less noticeable' to people -.-"

Anyway, I still get to have fun on the next day, because most of my friends are graduating the next day. We took photos and stuff and went for dinner and a movie. Pretty good for a PRE-graduation celebration :) The real celebration is on this Saturday so better store my stamina and prepare for some late night action on Saturday :)

Anyway, till the next time :)

Update?!

Yeah, it's been awhile since I last updated my blog. Looks like I'm not used to it yet -.-" And my life is currently pretty boring for me to update anything interesting BUT there are still those little things in life that I want to share :)

Anyway, since I'm not studying now, I do not have any school related problems like other members from ARM have. HOWEVER, I currently learning how to drive and kinda go to 'school' for the lessons :) So you can say that I'm currently schooling for driving license. So kinda still studying.

First off, I've attended about 13 lessons, and I'm pretty good at driving I must say. Forward only though -.-" They have yet to teach me parking and reversing so I suck at them :(

Although I'm pretty good, I still somehow screw things up one way or the other. Like forgetting to look out for on-coming traffic, or signal my intentions, or my legs just suddenly 'lag', maybe because I'm pretty tall and the information needs some time to go from my brain to my legs -.-" Or simply just going left when my instructor says right or vice versa -.-" Yeah, driving is pretty tough if you are an idiot -.-"

Another thing though, and it's pretty surprising. Driving actually drains a lot of your stamina and concentration. You can get exhausted from driving, no joke. I once took 2 lessons back to back on the same day, each lasting about 2 hours. By the time I started my second lesson, I'm actually tired and cannot concentrate that well. The instructor told me that driving is mentally strenuous, and you actually don't realize it yourself. All you know is that suddenly, you can't seem to concentrate anymore. Scary huh? -.-"

Anyway, even though all the hiccups, my driving lessons are proceeding pretty smoothly. I wish to get my driving lessons soon so I can drive around and have ladies' falling for me ;)

Ok, the latter part is a joke. Please ignore it -.-" Cause I'm already attractive enough XD

This is the end of my post. Till next time :) Provided I don't crash in some freak accident -.-"

Major updates!!!

Actually, nothing major XD Just that I'm gonna write 2 days worth of stuff into one entry :)

First!! 25th April 2009!!!

One of my friend decided to organize a gathering. Since everyone didn't have time/reason/etc to come out after graduation, he decided to make one ;)

We went to a restaurant, Waraku, in Marina Square. For those who are clueless, it's somewhere around city area and from its name, yes, it's a japanese restaurant. There were actually more people that are suppose to turn up but because of different reasons, a handful cannot make it for the dinner.

We reached the restaurant around 7pm(?) but because we need to wait for some people and stuff, we only started eating around 8 -.-" I bet the manager is trying his best to control his emotions during the one hour XD The dinner is great I must say. I ordered curry rice with chicken cutlet, and share another 2 different sets with my friends.

Oh, and about our seats, it's very interesting IMO. We were given the VIP room because of the number of people be have and the decorations are very Japanese-like, maybe just the table and the small mats that you are suppose to sit/kneel on. However, there is a hole underneth the table. So we can kinda get the feeling of 'sitting on a chair'. Pretty shocking IMO. And the stupid thing is, I nearly fell into the hole -.-" Pretty dumb I must say.

After the dinner, we left (duh) and went to a kareoke pub. That pub is actually owned of my friend's sister's friend, I know, it's complicated. For my friends, it's paradise. For me, it's litereally throwing me into the firey pits of hell, temptation and torture -.-" I see them drinking whiskey and beer while I sat there all night drinking mixers -.-" More specifically, coke, sprite, etc -.-" I can't drink for your info cause of hepatitis C -.-" but I LOVE to drink. The tempatation is like having the dream girl of your life standing infront of you NAKED but you can't do anything to her because she has AIDS -.-" But I'm not alone though. Another friend of mine couldn't drink that night too. He has to drive so a company for me :)

Anyway, I manage to fight off the temptation and survive the whole night with just mixers XD But look on the bright side though, I met a lively girl there XD She is a waiteress and is really the definition of 'lively' you can find in the dictionary, although kinda sacarstic -.-" Still, a nice person have around. Despite her maturity, she is just 19, going 20 this year. Meaning that I may have a chance XD Nah, joking.

Anyway, we left the place around 3.30am and we went our seperate ways. That's the end of 25 April 2009.

On to the part II...

27th April 2009?!?!?!?!

It's my friend's birthday. The same guy who planned the gathering on 25th XD

Actually, he wanted to make this birthday pass by simply but another friend remembered his birthday the last minute the previous night and 'planned' a celebratory dinner for him. Why I highlight the 'planned' is because he just told everyone to meet at 8pm the next day, with no particular place in mind for dinner -.-"

Anyway, we meet around 8 and started suggesting where to go for dinner. And after a while, we decided to have teppanyaki for dinner. Yes, my friends have a soft spot for Japanese food. We reached the restaurant around 9.15pm and started ordering. The thing about eating Japanese food in Singapore is that they are FREAKING EXPENSIVE, at least for a normal meal they are. Anyway, I ordered the promotion set. It's meant to cater for 2 people and the price is pretty resonable(?), at least for the food we get to eat -.-"

The best thing about teppanyaki is that you actually get to see the chef cook right in front of you. Yes, no 'extra' ingredient can be added into your food XD But if your pretty conscious about how oliy your face can get then maybe teppanyaki is not really for you XD

Overall, the meal was simple, the bill was not and everyone had their fill. After the meal, we went to meet another 2 friends that skipped the dinner because of some matters. As we were walking down the street, one of my friend surprised the birthday boy with a cake. Actually, not just him, we were all surprised XD I guess that's why they never joined us for dinner.

After all the hoo-haa, we went up the cinema to catch a movie but the tickets were all sold out. The next timing available is at 1.50am but it was just 10.30pm then. So we played left 4 dead at the LAN shop to kill time but after the game, most of us are tired and in the end, there are only 4 people left. Because the game is pretty good, we decided to ditch the movie plan and went for another round of left 4 dead. After the game, we had a short supper and went our seperate ways. That's the end of the story of a guy's 22nd birthday XD

Ok, I've gotta say, that's really long and tiring -.-" Anyway, this is the end of today's entry. Till the next time :)

NS woes...

Today is a pretty sad day for me. I've just received my NS (National Service) letter. I will have to report in for training on 15 June. Seriously, it's boring -.-"

Anyway, to sum up what is NS. It's where the guys living in Singapore, between 18 to 20+, must report in for 2 years of military service. 2 reasons why a must though. First, singapore is a very small country, to be specific, it's just an island on the world map. The number of people here is pretty pathetic compare to other big countries. Which equals to the number of people willing to enter the military = pathetic. Second, no country can support itself with mercenaries for long, and because the number of people willing to join the military out of free will, they will have to make it complusary.

Why I'm not partiucualarly happy about it is because, and this is just me, first, 2 years of your prime is gone. You can do a lot stuff at my age in 2 years. Take for exmaple, I'm 21. After 2 years of training, I'm 23. Simple math right? Let's say I want to further my studies, maybe 3 years? And by the time I really start to work, I'll be around 27. And there are a lot of things I haven't done yet. Career, marriage, etc and I'm already at the age where I can get mid-life crisis -.-" I think that's the reason why more and more people are getting depression in singapore :)

So in singapore, you have to work extremely hard in order to succeed. Hey, I'm not saying that you don't need to work hard in other countries to suceed but in singapore, you need that addiotional effort. Also, all is not over after you finished the NS. You still need to go back for re-service every year(?) until you are in late 30+(?) But according to others, there is a way to clear it faster so that you'll be free to do more stuff.

Talking about NS, actually, I only have to report in on July. But because I failed my NAPFA test (please refer to the previous topic), I have to report in 1 month earlier. Major drag. Anyway, since I've booked for a re-test, I'll need to call back to inform them, in case I pass then I'll have another month to play, and hopefully, celebrate my birthday early :)

Running?

Seriously, running is a tough sport. I just ran like 1km (maybe less?) and I'm gasping for air like a fish out of water -.-" No choice though. I failed my NAPFA (some kind of physical test) and I have to enter NS 2 months earlier if I don't pass it. Major drag, seriously. But the good news is, I just need to improve my timing by 2 minutes and I'm safe....Or maybe not.

On the way to the running 'track', I took the liberty of testing my pull-up. I can do 5 though, using reverse grip. Normal, just 3 -.-" That's bad news in case you don't follow. I need 6 to pass and I HAVE to use normal grip. Suddenly, I've just entered a whole new level of facepalm. More push-ups for me I guess.

But after all that running, I've got to say it felt quite nice, except for the perspiring though -.-" I mean, what's up with perspiring longer than the time I exercise. For your information, I perspired for about 1 and half hour. The time I ran? Not even half an hour -.-" That's the main reason why I don't like exercise.

Anyway, I've booked the re-test on 27 May 2009. Yeah, I have to add the year to prevent people from asking stupid question =p Till then, RUN!!!
